Dance Company

Haseen Dance Company was created by Pragati Gupta and features some of Los Angeles's top dancers with versatile dance backgrounds in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, Bollywood, belly dance, samba, flamenco, salsa, tango and ballroom. All of the company members have been personally trained by Pragati in Bollywood and have also trained under many well-accomplished middle-eastern and hip-hop artists such as Randa Kamel, Tito, Aziza, Zahra Zuhair, Jillina, Beatfreaks and many others. The dance company performs a wide variety of authentic Bollywood, Belly dance and Salsa/Ballroom shows that can be fused with other popular global dance styles such as samba and flamenco for all types of events all over Los Angeles and within and outside of California. Bollywood entertainment includes classical, oldies, bhangra and all other Bollywood dance styles uniquely blended for a magical journey through the dances of India. Belly dance entertainment includes a range of traditional and modern props such as isis wings, finger cymbals, cane, veil, shamadan, fan veils and sword. The company's vision is to provide mesmerizing, energetic entertainment for its clients and prides itself on presenting very original and energetic shows.

Pragati Gupta Vanasin


Pragati Gupta Vanasin

Pragati is the founder and artistic choreographer for Haseen Dance Company. She is a professionally trained dancer in Bollywood, Kathak, Belly Dance & other Middle-Eastern styles, Hip-hop, Afro-Latin, and Jazz for over 10 years. She was the artistic choreographer for Lunasha Bollywood Dance Company and had been a principal dancer in a few of Los Angeles’s top dance companies, such as Zahira Belly Dance Company, Lunasha Bollywood Dance Company, and Bollywood Step Dance. She had been selected to perform for the 2013 Official Grammy After Party, Dr. Dre (well-known Hip-Hop artist), A.R. Rahman (music director of Slumdogg Millionaire), Master P (well-known Hip-Hop artist), Kailash Kher (well-known Indian singer), Mallika Sherawat (well-known Bollywood actress), Bonnie Story (choreographer of High School Musical 1, 2, & 3), and Siavash Shams (well-known Persian singer). Pragati has performed all over Los Angeles, including at the Shrine Auditorium, Staples Center, Hollywood Bowl, and numerous stage shows and she looks forward to future opportunities overseas. Raised in India, Pragati started dancing at an early age and knew that dance would always be her passion. She first started training in Kathak (North Indian classical dance) and instantly fell in love with this graceful and intricate dance style. After moving to Los Angeles, she continued to pursue her passion for dance through training in many diverse and global dance styles. Pragati attended Cal Poly Pomona University and received her B.S. in Computer Information Systems and later pursued her MBA in Finance at USC. She has worked for several corporations in the fields of Information Technology, Real Estate, and Finance and is currently a Financial Analyst. She had always managed to continue her dance training and dance projects while having a full-time career. In 2012, she decided to further explore her dreams of becoming a choreographer as she loves to share her artistic and fusion creations with others. Some of Pragati's other interests and hobbies include traveling, fitness, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Akanksha Garg


Akanksha Garg

Akanksha is an avid and experienced Bollywood dancer. Raised in Southern California, Bollywood movies have always been a way to connect with her Indian culture and heritage. Seeing all of the beautiful and energetic performances on screen encouraged her to pursue dance as a hobby. This hobby soon turned into a passion that has become an integral part of her personal life. She spent years as a member of UCLA's Hindi Film dance team, Nashaa, the winner of several national competitions and awards. Her senior year on the team, she was captain and lead female dancer. She was also the three-time Director of Jhoomti Shaam, a national Hindi Film dance competition hosted by UCLA. Since her undergraduate career, she has danced with various Bollywood dance companies in the Los Angeles area. She was also a troupe member of AATMA Performing Arts for the 2012 Mystic India tour. Akanksha is honored and excited to be a part of Haseen Dance Company and to continue her dance development.

Akanksha has a B.A. in International Studies from UCLA, an M.A. in Communications from USC and currently works as a Product Manager for Cornerstone On Demand, an HR software company. When not working and dancing, she enjoys movies, books, food and traveling.

Dustin Ripkens


Dustin Ripkens

Dustin comes all the way from Germany to Los Angeles to follow his passion, Dance. While growing up in Germany, Dustin started training in ballet and hip-hop. He worked as a dance and fitness teacher for children, teenagers and adults and then later danced, choreographed and directed for his own hip-hop Company “The Dark Flames”. In 2009, Dustin moved to the UK to become a student at Performers College where he trained full time for three years in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, tap, musical theater, partnering work, and gymnastics to name a few.

Over the recent years, Dustin has worked for some well-known artists such as Take That (famous European boy band), Adam Tyler (well-known American artist) and Twenty Twenty (well-known British Band). He had also been selected to perform at the 'Greenwich and Docklands International Festival', the Pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Tribute to Frank Valli and the Four’. While in the UK, Dustin achieved success as a member of the hip-hop Company “Masters of Movements” and contemporary Company “Performers Company”, where he was given the opportunity to perform at 'Move It' (UK's biggest dance event) and 'Britain's Got Talent'.

Dustin is thrilled to be a member of Haseen Dance Company and looks forward to great adventures in Bollywood.

Heart Hayes


Heart Hayes

Heart was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up around Hollywood and a descendant of comedian Redd Foxx, it wasn’t long before she was introduced to the entertainment industry. As a young child, Heart started off as an actress doing several print and commercials. Her first stage performance was at age 10 for the West Valley Boys and Girls Club talent show. Here she found a new passion, dance. Since then, she continued acting, taking dance classes, and performing in the talent shows. By high school, Heart took her talents to the next level. She joined the dance team at Taft High School. High school is where she achieved most of her training. She danced, choreographed, and competed in hip hop, jazz, modern, and military. Also during high school, Heart attended actress Wendy Raquel Robinson’s school, Amazing Grace Conservatory. Here she trained in acting, singing, and dance. She also performed in musicals with AGC, including the great play, The Wiz. Towards the end of high school, Heart was presented to work with the latin/brazillian dance company, Tropidanza. Working as a samba and salsa dancer, Heart danced hundreds of shows and for many events including The Diversity Awards, America’s Got Talent, Dancing With the Stars, Paul Mitchell, Van Halen, Brazillian Carnaval, and Chinese New Year Parade in Hong Kong. Her recent commercials include McDonalds, Allstate, Wendy’s, Chrysler, and Bounty. Heart also appeared in several music videos playing the leading lady for different artist such as Trey Songz, Music Soulchild, Chris Brown, and Sean Kingston to name a few. Heart has recently joined the Bollywood/belly-dance company, Haseen. Be sure to catch Heart Hayes on a stage near you or on TV.

Indu Premakumar


Indu Premakumar

Indu is trained in Bollywood, Bhangra, Bharathanatyam, Hiphop, and Garba-raas. As a dancer on Stanford University's competitive and award winning Indian dance team, Basmati Raas, she has performed in numerous cities across America including Miami, Texas, Los Angeles, New York, Michigan, and San Francisco. Indu also danced with Noopur,a dance team that fuses together elements of bharathanatyam, kathak, odissi and other classical Indian dance forms. For the past 2 years, Indu has also performed in the "I Just Want to Dance" cultural show.

Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Indu Premakumar embarked on her dance journey at the age of 3. Instantly, she was mesmerized by the synergy of beauty, elegance and preciseness that lay in the heart of Indian dancing. During her thirteen years of training in Bharathanatyam, she learned how discipline and passion were the key ingredients to mastering dance as a form of self expression. Indu completed both her B.S. in Bio-mechanical Engineering and her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. When she is not dancing or engineering, Indu loves to paint, play in the sun, watch movies, volunteer, and organize fun adventures with large groups of friends.

Jessica Mubaraki


Jessica Mubaraki

Jessica has enjoyed and cherished all types of dancing throughout her life. Living in India at a young age, she was trained in classical Indian dancing including Kathak and Bharatnatyam. Growing up, she was also trained in gymnastics, jazz, ballet, salsa, and hip-hop. She joined her High School Dance Team where she performed Hip-hop/Jazz/Modern dance routines during football and basketball games. She graduated UCLA with Honors in Electrical/Computer Engineering and completed her Master’s degree in Systems Engineering. While at UCLA and USC, she performed traditional, folk, and modern Bollywood routines for the Indian and Iranian Student Culture Shows. She created her own Bollywood/Aerobics (Bollyrobics) and taught at the UCLA gym. She was also a part of the UCLA Ballroom Dance Team, learning various forms of Latin dance including salsa, merengue, cha-cha, bachata, and tango. This led her to join the Salsa Barbara dance troupe later while she was working in Santa Barbara where she performed at community events. Her friends, family, and colleagues began to recognize her talents and requested her Bollywood performances at a number of Indian and Middle-Eastern weddings. This motivated her to join the Haseen Dance Company to continue performing professionally. Besides dancing, Jessica keeps herself active and in shape with other physical activities such as running, swimming, hiking, yoga, zumba, kickboxing, rollerblading, skiing, tennis, and taking various fitness classes. Jessica loves to travel to experience different cultures and especially go dancing around the world!

Loree Rapp


Loree Rapp

Originally from San Diego, Loree moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for dance. With a background in hip hop and jazz, Loree fell in love with Middle Eastern and Indian music and culture and trained and performed with several professional dance companies in Los Angeles. She has been a professional Belly Dancer and Bollywood dancer for over 5 years, performing in and around Los Angeles, San Diego, Reno, San Jose and even India! Loree’s talents have led her to perform for many great artists including Dr. Dre, Mansour & Jamshid (well-known Persian singers), Liel Kolet (well-known Israeli singer), Shadmehr Aghili (well-known Persian singer), and Camellia Abou-Odah (well-known Arab singer) to name a few. Loree's Motto: Live, Laugh, Love...and DANCE!

Manasi Chavan


Manasi Chavan

Born and raised in India, Manasi has been dancing since a very young age. She realized her passion for dance when she first performed at a local show at the age of 6, and has never stopped performing since. For Manasi, dancing is a medium to express herself and feel free and rejuvenated.

All throughout her life, Manasi has participated in many school, college, state, and national level dance shows and competitions. Manasi has a variety of dance training and experience, including Bollywood, Bhangra, Hip Hop, Salsa, and Bachata. She has been a member of USC's competitive and award winning dance team "Zeher," and has performed in a number of cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Manasi has a B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering, an M.S. in Environmental Engineering, and is presently working as a Project Environmental Engineer. Aside from dancing, Manasi loves to read, travel, hike, rock-climb, and partake other adventure sports/activities.

Omar Rodriguez


Omar Rodriguez

Omar studied at the Central High School of Visual Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised. In 2002, he earned his bachelor's degree from Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, New York for film and animation. Shortly after, he earned his master's degree in experimental animation at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA.

During his college education, he studied singing with Gwen Arment in New York and with the Latin Jazz Ensemble of California Institute of the Arts. He has trained in many dance forms through his travels within the United States, Cuba and Puerto Rico. His main focuses have been salsa, Afro Cuban, Afro Brazilian, flamenco, and more recently ballet, modern, and Bollywood. He has collaborated with Kimberly Miguel Mullen, CONTRA-TIEMPO Co., and 3-19 Dance Art. As an educator, Omar enjoys teaching art and dance at the UCLA Lab School since 2006.

Priya Gulati


Priya Gulati

Priya began her lifelong love affair with dancing when she was a young girl, and was initially trained in the American dance styles of jazz, tap, and hip hop. She was on her middle school and high school cheer leading squads as a teenager, where she developed her stunting and gymnastic skills. As a member of San Francisco’s Project Pulse, Priya performed a hip hop number alongside her dream circus troupe, Cirque du Soleil.

Upon entering college, Priya joined UC Irvine’s Hindi film dance team Sitaare, where she ultimately rose to become the lead female dancer and choreographer. Since then, Bollywood dancing has become Priya’s focus. She went on to dance professionally with Bollywood Step Dance, where she performed alongside Boman Irani, Regis Philbin, and Tony Bennett. She has also danced with Tattva, where she was the lead female dancer for a large stage production at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Priya has had several years of extensive training in Kathak (a classical Indian dance form) with Pandit Chitresh Das in both India and the Bay Area.

Professionally, Priya is a vibrant young attorney and a vegetarian food blogger. She’s also taught Bollywood dance classes to young children and teenagers, which she truly enjoys, as it allows her to share her knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for dance with California’s next generation of Bollywood stars.

Shannon D'Souza


Shannon D'Souza

Honored to be a part of Haseen Dance Company, Shannon is a native of Los Angeles and is very grateful to be a thriving artist/entertainer. She comes from a professional dance background having performed and choreographed all over the United States, Canada, & Europe with various dance and entertainment companies. Initially trained in Hip-hop and Jazz, she continued her dance training at California State University of Long Beach and went on to receive her BA in Dance with an emphasis in Modern and Ballet. Her passion for learning other dance forms led her to train and tour under Banafsheh Sayyad with her Dance Company, NAMAH in Persian/Sufi and Flamenco styles of dance. Shannon is also an experienced Polynesian dancer having received an extensive amount of training in Tahitian, Hula and Maori under several Polynesian Dance companies based in Los Angeles. Other dance experience includes Burlesque, Dance Theater, West African, Fire Poi, and more recently, Belly Dance, Samba, Odissi and Bollywood.

As a yoga practitioner and dance instructor with 15 years of teaching experience, Shannon teaches Dance and Yoga throughout numerous Schools and Studios around Southern California in the hopes of inspiring people to enjoy life through movement. In between rehearsals and performances, Shannon spends most of her spare time studying Holistic Medicine along with eating sticky rice and mango when in season!
